How to set products as recurring and how it impacts the MRR/ARR report in TrueRev
From the TrueRev dashboard, click the Settings icon.
Navigate to the Products setting.
All the products and services set in QuickBooks will be listed, and product information such as name, class, and default account will also be displayed.
Toggle the button on the far right of the product line to mark the product as recurring. When the product is marked as recurring, the term “(recurring)” will appear in the product name.
💡 Only recurring products are included in the MRR/ARR report.To view the report, go to the Reports tab and select Recurring Revenue (MRR/ARR). You can choose to view the report as a bar chart or in a table format.
Once the report dashboard is open, navigate to the top section of the report. Update or enter the Start date and End date of your report. You can filter the report by using tags and auto-renewal. Use the dropdown list to select “Tags” and “Auto-renewal”. You can toggle the MRR/ARR button to switch the report view from monthly to annual.
Click on each type to expand and see the companies where the recurring revenues were generated.
To identify the source of the MRR in the report, go to the Contracts tab, select the contract name set up for the company, and then navigate to the Bookings tab. Please note that setting up the products in the Bookings tab correctly is essential for accurate MRR calculation.
